ABOUT DECA
DECA is an organization established in 1946 that was designed to prepare emerging leaders at the high school and college level for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management. There are over 275 DECA chapters at the collegiate level. Members have the opportunity to compete in competitive events, travel to educational conferences in cities like Orlando and Washington D.C., and apply for exclusive scholarships.
ABOUT OUR CHAPTER
The Penn State DECA chapter was founded by five students in May 2015. In addition to participating in competitive events and conferences, our chapter travels to the local high school to assist them in preparing for their competitions. At our bi-weekly meetings we practice for our own competitions while enjoying snacks and spending time with one another. We are currently partnered with a start-up company called Freenters; as a group we provide them with consulting services and help to expand and grow their business.
